Mrs. Carlyne Hix Reid, age 86 of McCallum Street, Candor NC died Saturday, Oct 23 at Magnolias of Gaffney in Gaffney SC A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 29 at Candor United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Pat Sikes. Private inurnment will be in Candor Town Cemetery Mrs. Reid was born in Moore County October 12, 1924 to Boyd Everette Hix and Hattie Cranford Hix. She was a retired employee of Samarkand Minor. She was a member of Candor United Methodist Church and was married to James M. Reid, Jr who preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Cheryl R. Gallimore and husband Donald of Gaffney, SC; Anne R. Smith and husband Jerry of Jacksonville, Fla; grandchildren Rebecca G. Turner of Gaffney and Jamie S Carpentier of Jacksonville, Fla; great grandchildren, Kolby Turner, Kadon Turner and Madeline Carpentier. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 28 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
