Carlo Scarboro

Mr. Carlo Wilbur Scarboro, age 88 of NC Hwy # 49 South, Denton, NC died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at Gravel Hill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Danny Hosler and Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Scarboro was born April 11, 1921 in Randolph County to Julian M. Scarboro and Missouri Stout Scarboro. He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, a retired employee of General Electric Asheboro Plant and a Farmer. He was married to Pallie Shaw Scarboro who died May 9, 1997. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky W. Scarboro who died March 13, 1996. He is survived by a son, Steven D. Scarboro and wife Paula of Asheboro; a daughter-in-law Marlene S. Albright of Denton; a brother H. Almer Scarboro and wife Lillie Mae of Denton; grandchildren, Rikki Beth Poindexter of Asheboro, Allison Shackleford of Denton, Chad Scarboro of Greenville and Ryan Scarboro of Asheboro and 7 great grandchildren. The family will see friends from 12:30 to 2:30 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of Marlene Albright on Gravel Hill Road.
