Calvin Gallimore

Mr. Calvin Karolise Gallimore, 91, of Denton Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, Nov. 30, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Gallimore was born August 19, 1932, in Davidson County to Lonnie C. Gallimore and Josephine Carriker Gallimore. He was of Baptist faith and was a veteran of the United States Army where he had served as a Corporal with Company C of the 112th   Infantry Regiment and was stationed in Germany from 1953-1955. Once he had returned from serving his country Calvin went to work as a fixer in the hosiery/textile industry, making brooms, and became known as a master woodworker making many pieces furniture. Calvin also loved restoring old cars and had a love for antiques.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Lanier Gallimore on August 11, 1998, by a grandson, James Gregory, and by brothers, Wade, Colon, Thomas, Otto, XL (Pete), and John Wayne Gallimore.

He is survived by sons, Jeffrey Calvin Gallimore (Joy) and Gary Gallimore (Michelle); daughters, Wadene Sanders (Ricky), Annette Stutts (Steve), Renee Proctor, Pansy Frank (Tony); brother, Talton (Tase) Gallimore; 12 grandchildren, Rick, Christie, Jeffrey, Crystal, Allison, Brandi, Monnie, Matthew, Brittany, Amber, Travis, and Heather; 14 great-grandchildren, Megan, Lydia, Alex, Logan Calvin, Alex, Abigail, Adalee, Micah, Austin, Mason, Mackenzie, Everett, Karsyn, and Taylor; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Olivia James and Madeline Alex.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Denton Rd.,
