C. L. Carrick, Jr., 61, of Denton Rd. died Monday, October 15, 2007 from injuries sustained in a truck accident. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2007 at Summerville Baptist Church where he was a member, conducted by Rev. Tom McLean, Rev. Mike Motley, and Mr. Charles Stovall. Mr. Carrick was born Jan. 25, 1946 in Guilford County to Lawrence Carrick and Nona Daniel Carrick. He was veteran of the North Carolina National Guard. Mr. Carrick was employed as a truck driver with Swing Transport in Salisbury. Mr. Carrick was preceded in death by his father on Jan. 1, 1985 and by a brother Kim Carrick on Dec. 5, 2001. Survivors include, wife Dianne Parrish Carrick of the home, brother Dennis Carrick and wife Gail of Charlotte, mother Nona Carrick of Denton, nephew Jeff Carrick of Charlotte, nieces Lisa Diane Carrick of Charlotte, Amelia Parrish of Silver Valley, Amanda P. Surratt and husband Allen and son Beckham of Clayton, father and mother in law Bruce and Maxine Parrish, brother in law Harold Parrish and wife Joyce, also left to cherish his memory are special friends, Kathy McDonald, Betty Hilton, Judy Hegler Thurman, Lisa Brewer, Michelle Whitlock, Tanya Cook, Nicole (spanky) Cook, Gabe Whitlock, Colbey Garrison, and Jordan Whitlock and several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who all will dearly miss him. The family will see friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeal Home and also other times at the residence on Denton Rd.
