Burline Coggins

Burline Grindstaff Coggins, 86, formerly of Troy, NC passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, Jan. 14 at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Bobby Lorton. Mrs. Coggins will lie in state from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Burline was born April 9, 1934 in Mitchell County to George Grindstaff and Mary Robinson Grindstaff. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and had been employed with B. J. Concepts. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, C. Albert Lanier; her second husband, Frank L. Coggins; daughter, Debbie Lynn Parker; great-granddaughter, Jessie Whittman; her brother, Jack; her sisters, Maude, Grace, Lilly, Ruby. She is survived by 2 grandsons, Kenneth Maness and Wesley Scarboro; 2 great-grandchildren, Dustin and Katlyn Scarboro; and nieces and nephews.
