Bryce Hartley

Harold Bryce Hartley, aged 94, of Denton, NC, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Born on February 26, 1930, in Rowan County, he was the son of Jim Hartley and Gertha Dennis Hartley.

Bryce dedicated 43 years of service to the City of Salisbury Street Department before retiring. He was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and actively participated in the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge #576 for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Newsom Hartley, his son Kail Hartley, daughter Gay Yates, granddaughter Danielle Yates, and his ten siblings.

He leaves behind cherished memories with his daughter-in-law, Sandra Hartley, son-in-law, Billy Yates, and his five grandchildren: Brandon Hartley (Catherine), Chrissy Morris (Eric), Dana Yates (Jordan Morris), Candace Yates, and Hunter Yates. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Kailyn, Alyssa, Cori, Kamrin, Blake, Rustin, and Dani Gray.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 24, at Summerville Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Thomas Frizzell and Rev. Mike Motley. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and at other times at the residence.
