Bruce Surratt

Mrs. Bruce Smith Surratt, age 102 of South NC Hwy # 109, Denton died Saturday, September 24 at Rowan Regional Hospital in Salisbury. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 28 at Lineberry United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mrs. Surratt was born November 12, 1913 in Davidson County to James Cornelius Smith and Minnie Farlena Morris Smith. She was a member of Lineberry United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She had worked in the Hosiery Manufacturing Industry. She was married to Robert W. Surratt who died in 2002, She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ernest and Bobby and sisters, Flada and Bessie. She is survived by her daughter Renee Surratt Gallimore and husband Phil of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, John Gallimore and wife Jaime of Winston-Salem; Mindy Gallimore Murray and husband Ryan of Minneapolis, Minn.; great grandchildren, Charlie and Simon Gallimore and Lily Murray.
