Mr. Bruce Wood Parrish, age 83 of East Old Hwy # 64, Lexington, NC died Tuesday, June 10 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. A Memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, June 12 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Pat Eller. Mr. Parrish was born February 4, 1925 in Davidson County to Grover C. Parrish and Maude Lambeth Parrish. He was a self employed farmer and had also worked at Thomasville Furniture Industries. He attended The Original Church of God and enjoyed playing music with his niece, Betty Hilton and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Newsom Parrish of the home, a son Harold Parrish and wife Joyce (Hattie) of Lexington; a daughter Dianne Carrick of Denton. A sister Grace Parrish Younts and husband Woodrow of Trinity. Grand-daughters Amelia Parrish and husband Jerry, Amanda P. Surratt and husband Allen. Great Grandchild Beckham Surratt. Also surviving are Special Nieces: Betty Hughes Hilton, Judy Thurman and husband John, Wanda Hill and husband Bobby, Francis Cross and Vivian Swain. Special Nephews: Ralph Parrish, Jimmy McClory, Donald Parrish, Mike Parrish, Terry Parrish, Swayne Brown and Andrea, Marshall Hegler and Ann. Several other Nieces and Nephews. The Light of his life was his great Grandson Beckham and his Grandaughters, Sugar Ball and Sweet Pea. Special Thanks to Rev. Pat and Nora Elle, Rev. Gene & Tula Schenck, Rev.
