Mr. Bobby Dean Williams, age 88 of North Main Streeet, Denton, NC died Wednesday, August 9 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 13 at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shane Smith, Rev. Vern Peterson and Rev. Greg Hargrave. Burial with honors by the Davidson County Fireman’s Honor Guard will be held at Canaan Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
Mr. Williams was born October 15, 1934 in Davidson County to Eli Williams and Mae Grant Williams. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. He was a retired Paramedic Supervisor with the Davidson County EMS. He was a member of the Davidson County Rescue Squad. He recognized the need and helped organize the Denton unit of the Rescue Squad that served Southern Davidson County. He was active in the early years of the Project Santa program at First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by sisters, Linda Harris, Nancy DeHart and Betty Jean Harris and brothers, Kenneth Williams and Donald Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ward Williams of the home; sons, Robert Dean Williams and wife Rachel Long Williams of Salisbury, Perry Williams, Lt. Col (Ret) and wife Fariba Armani of Alexandra, Va. and Kendel Neil Williams and wife Therese Williams of Denton; a daughter, Dr. Carri Williams Hampton and husband Bryant of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lyndsey McLean, Malorie Fisher, Nina Williams, Alex Williams, Rachel Willams, Matthew Williams, Amber Hampton and Alyssa Hampton; great grandchildren, Reagyn Cabanillas, Ivan Fisher and, Tucker Fisher; step grandchildren, Jessica Shoup, Elizabeth Dorroh and Angelica Moysan; step great grandchildren ,Coleman Dorroh, Charley Dorroh, Ryleigh Shoup and Kayleigh Shoup.
Also surviving are all former and current EMS employees who Bobby considered to be his family.
