Bobby Gene Privett, 74, of N. Williams St., Candor, died Monday, September 9, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Moore County on December 26, 1944, he was the son of Reid Clifford and Foy Margaret McCaskill Privett. He was a truck driver with Mountaire Farms, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Rothe, brother, Clifford Privette, and a sister, Marie Meacham. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Whittaker Privett of the home; 2 sons, Danny Privett of Star, and Sam Rothe of Illinois; 2 daughters, Jane Gaddis of Siler City, and Lisa Rothe of Calabash; 2 brothers, Johnson Privett of Springfield TN, and Tim Privett of Candor; sister, Elaine Privette of Candor; 14 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence on N. Williams St. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
