Bobby Matney

Bobby Matney 84, of Turnpike Rd., Archdale, died Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Abbott’s Creek Center in Lexington.  Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at New Home Old Regular Baptist Church, with Elder Lacy Justice officiating.  Burial will be in the Matney Family Cemetery, Dakotas Trail, Denton.  The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 PM Tuesday at the church.

Born in McDowell County, WV, on September 2, 1940, he was the son of Kennis and Loujane Ashby Matney.  He was a mechanic and an elder in the church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Kennedy Matney in 2014.

Bobby is survived by his son, Edwin Matney and wife Lisa of Trinity; 3 brothers, John Matney of Denton, Fred Matney of Harmony, and Tony Matney of N. Wilkesboro; 2 sisters, Brenda Justice and Pricey Justice, both of West Virginia; grandchild, Chase Alexander Matney.
