Bobby Ray Hoover, aged 70, of Asheboro, NC, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 22, 1954, in Randolph County, he was the beloved son of the late Johnny H. Hoover and Lizzie Marie Hunt Hoover.
Bobby dedicated his career to the furniture industry, working as an upholster. He was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church in Asheboro, where he found spiritual fulfillment and community. Bobby had a passion for Chevrolet hot rods, motorcycles, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially enjoying trips to the beach.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Tallent Hoover, and his daughters, Jackie Pulgarin (Jorge), Tammy Spoon (Randall), Dana Saunders (Bobby), and Stephanie Rector (Matt). He also leaves behind his brother, Ronnie Hoover (Vanda), sisters, Dianne Kearns (Lynn) and Glenda Tuggle (Ted), four grandchildren, Bobby Pulgarin (Madelyn), Austin Lambert, Sara Saunders, and Maverick Rector, as well as two great-grandchildren, Jaydon and A.J. Lambert.
A funeral service to honor Bobby's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25, at Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Jody Harrison, Rev. Claudie Harrison, Rev. Brian Cole, and Rev. Ted Tuggle officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at the church.
Bobby's memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of love and devotion to family will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
