Bob Craven

Mr. Robert Braxton (Bob) Craven, Sr. age 92 of Denton died Wednesday, February 17, at Hospice House of High Point. An inurnment service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Mr. Craven was born February 17, 1929 in Randolph County to Rufus Braxton Craven and Macie Cox Craven. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U S Navy. He was a former member of the Denton Lions Club. He moved to Denton when Klopman Mills established a plant here. He later worked as the Public Works Director for the Town of Denton and also operated a grocery store. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline (Polly) Robbins Craven. He is survived by sons, Robert B (Bobby) Craven, Jr. and wife Angela and Christopher R (Chris) Craven both of Denton; a daughter Amy Craven Boyd and husband Winfred of Charlotte and 3 grandchildren. Briggs Funeral Home is serving the family.
