Bob Collins, Sr.

Mr. J. Bobby “Bob” Collins, Sr. age 78, of Pinnacle Trail, Denton passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Lexington Medical Center. A celebration of life memorial service will be held 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Summerville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Flynn Richardson and Dr. Ronald Loftis. Bob was born November 20, 1938 in Cumberland County to Glennie Collins and Daisy Lee Norris Collins. He was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Bob had owned McDonald Franchises in Virginia and worked for the corporate office for 30 years. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Morrison. Surviving are his wife, Sally Gillis Collins of the home; sons, Bob Collins, Jr. (Stephanie) of Fayetteville, John Collins of Hickory, Jeff Collins (Jennifer) of Houston, GA, Joey Collins (Kristina) of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Jeanne McLamb (Mike) of Monroe; sisters, Elizabeth Loftis (Dr. Ronald) of Hope Mills and Frances Brock of Branson, MO; 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Tayler, and Hunter Collins, Sara Schneider (Zach), Jessie and Rachel Collins, Alyssa Beal (Ben), Michael McLamb, Jr., Celeste Collins, and Phoebe Collins; 2 great-grandchildren, Rian Collins and Sawyer Schneider. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence on Pinnacle Trail, Denton.
