Mrs. Blondell Ellington, age 84, of NC Hwy. 73, Jackson Springs, NC died Saturday, March 10 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 13 at Marcus United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Eric Joyce and Rev. Don Burns. Inurnment will be at a later date at Marcus United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the residence. Mrs. Ellington was born in Moore County on August 25, 1927 to Marvin McKinley Poole and Bertha Gaddy Poole. She was a member of Marcus United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was married to Rev. Budd Ellington who died February 9, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a son, Budd McKinley (Mac) Ellington. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy R. Ellington of Jackson Springs, a son Mark Ellington and wife Brenda of Lincolnton, daughter-in-law, Nancy D. Ellington of Bervard, grandchildren, Becky Heatherly and husband Chad, Amy Hertz and husband Steve, Bradley Beamer and Mark Beamer and great-grandchildren, Savanah Heatherly, Haley Heatherly and Zack Beamer.
