Billy Reece Lewis

Billy Reece Lewis, 76, of Cole Rd., Candor, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at his residence. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Friday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born on October 13, 1934 in Montgomery County, he was the son of James Robert and Bertie Alma Lamonds Lewis. He was a machinist with CSX Railroad and retired in 1996 after 30 years of service. He is survived by a son, Gary R. Lewis of Seven Lakes; 3 daughters, Vickie Panzer of Mt. Gilead, Terrie L. Furr of Candor, and Sherrie L. Ingram of Eagle Springs; 2 brothers, Bobby Lewis of Candor and Ray Lewis of Asheboro; 12 Grandchildren and 6 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 PM prior to the service Friday at the church, and other times at the residence on Cole Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Presbyterian Church, PO Box 340, Candor NC 27229. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
