Mr. Billy “Bill” Wayne Inman, 85, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015, at home surrounded by family. A veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve 1947 thru 1957, serving in Korean and Japan 1947 thru 1949. He retired from Burlington Industries after 41 years, having started as a Sweeper and ended his career as a member of Management. Most important to him was the wonderful lifelong friendships he developed while there. Although he enjoyed his work he also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and watching sports on TV. He is survived by daughter, Linda and Dennis Woody of Burlington, son, Jerry and Kelly Inman of Burlington, daughter, Angie and Alvin Gallimore of Denton, and son, Mitchell and Stephanie Inman of Burlington; grandchildren, Lori (Jim) Bodenheimer, Keith (Tammy) Woody, Amy (Brian) Davis, Jerry Inman, Griffin Inman, Angel (Todd) Smith, Ray Gallimore, and Conner Inman; great-grandchildren Jazmin Curtin, Austin Woody, Chase Woody, Ali Smith, Anna Smith, Billy Robertson, and Trista Inman. And “baby” brother Harry Inman and Sherry. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, best friend, and love of his life of 66 years, Eula Mae Inman. His parents Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Inman, and siblings Eula Inman Smith, Gladys Inman Forrester, Eitha Inman Granger, Mary Olive Inman Cory, James Inman, Lorraine Inman Sanford, Stella Inman Matteo, Franklin Inman, and John Inman. The family will receive friends at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, from 12 to 1 p.m and other times at the home of daughter Angie Gallimore 591 Piedmont School Rd., Denton. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. R.J. Zupancich. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
