Billie was born on November 18, 1941, in Davidson County, the daughter of John Simpson and Oma Troxler Sechrest. She had worked in retail business for most of the time of her employment. Some of the things Billie enjoyed were shopping, traveling, and fishing especially when her children were younger. She even had her prized 4 and half pound crappie mounted but what was most important to Billie was her family, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for telling anyone that visited that there was ice cream in the freezer.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Chad Leonard.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Arlis Leonard and his wife Janet of Archdale, Jeff Leonard and his wife Robin of Archdale, and Travis Leonard and his wife Tracy of Thomasville; her daughter, Teresa Brewer and Scott Morris of Denton; 7 grandchildren, Melissa Foley (Derrick), Stephanie Poe (Ashley), Heather Rust (Paul), Lauren Leonard, Zachary Leonard, Ariel Beaulieu (James), and Tyler Leonard; 8 great-grandchildren, McKenna Rust, Skyler Beaulieu, Liam Leonard, Nolan Foley, Avery Beaulieu, Kennedy Beaulieu, Nathan Foley, and Owen Rust.
