Billie Lookabill Cook

Billie Lookabill Cook, 90, formerly of Ross Lee Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 19, at Alleghany United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Eddie Hill and Mr. Ronnie Cook. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of James and Otha Cook on Ross Lee Rd.

Billie was born January 17, 1932, in Davidson County to Clyde Lookabill and Lucretia Surratt Lookabill. Mrs. Cook was a member of Alleghany United Methodist Church and had worked a folder in the Hosiery industry. Billie loved all of her family but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Lawrence Cook; daughters, Yolanda Borgman and Carolyn Covington.

She is survived by son, James Cook and wife Otha of Denton; son-in-law, Steve Covington of Denton; sister, Voncille Comer of Southmont; 7 grandchildren, Yvonda Trotter and fiancé Keith Bowlen, Lonnie Cook (Regina), Ronnie Cook (Tonya), Lucretia Smith (Shaun), Tony Cook (Amanda), Nicole Russell (Travis), and Zack Borgman (Stephanie); 17 great-grandchildren, Megan Trotter, Daniel Cook, Colby Trotter, Candice Cook, Zeke Hazelwood, Austin Cook, Dakota Cook, Aaliyah Hazelwood, Stetson Cook, Caleigh Cook, Sawyer Cook, Abby Russell, Peyton Russell, Parker Borgman, Mattie Oneil, Paisley Borgman, and Lilly Borgman; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Kolston and Hudson Mauck, Charlotte Gribble, and Kason Trotter.
