Betty Sue Pierce

Mrs. Betty Sue Davis Pierce, age 83 of Bombay Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, November 27 at Thomasville Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, December 4 at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Steven Chipps. The family will see friends from noon until 2:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence on Bombay Road, Denton. Mrs. Pierce was born January 20, 1938 in Davidson County to Ruffin Davis and Julia Tysinger Davis. She was married to Thomas Pierce who died January 2, 1997. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and had been employed in the hosiery manufacturing industry. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by a sister Kate Moore. She is survived by daughters, Kathy P Cody and husband Ricky and Debbie P Cody and husband Robert all of Denton; sisters Ruby Hulin, Ruth Ann Pope, Shelvia Whitley all of Denton and Phyllis Weaver of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Christy Bean, Melissa Robinson, Jennifer Sayers, Richard Cody, Tonya Potts and Brooke Cody; 16 great grandchildren, Makayla, Ashlyn and Kirstyn Bean, Alexis and Ally Myers, Skylar Cody, Brea and Macie Sayers, Abigail Cody, Trevor, Travis and Tevin Cody, Lexie and Carleigh Potts, Sophia and Nevaeh Potts. Briggs Funeral Home is serving the Pierce Family.
