Mrs. Betty Wall Floyd Rhodes, age 87, of Lexington died Thursday, July 15 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Funeral service for Mrs. Rhodes will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 18 at Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dickens officiating. The body will lie in state prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of a grandson, Jeff Worley on Floyd Church Rd. Mrs. Rhodes was born March 9, 1923 in Davidson County to George and Bessie Bailey Wall. She was an active charter member of Floyd Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Southmont School and had worked in the textile industry. She was a very avid quilter and shared her gift of quilting with her family and many friends. She was a good neighbor and well respected community member and loved to raise a garden and share with others. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dolan Floyd and second husband Luke Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by a son, John E. Floyd, an infant granddaughter and a step-son. Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her daughter, Judy Worley and husband James of Lexington, brother, James Wall and wife Margie of Lexington, sister, Lillie Curry of Denton and step-son Luke Rhodes, Jr. She is also survived by grandchildren, Tammy Haynes, Jeff Worley, Michael Floyd, Terry Floyd and Mark Floyd, eleven great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
