Betty Shaw Reeder

Betty Shaw Reeder, 85, of Shaw-Reeder Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Randolph Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, Dec. 31 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Jody Harrison, Rev. Claudie Harrison, and Rev. Melvin Morton. Interment will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Betty was born April 28, 1936 in Randolph County to Gus Shaw and Tishie Cranford Shaw. She had been employed with Acme McCrary Hosiery in Asheboro for 50 years. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Worth, Vernon, Max, and Talton Shaw; sisters, Luna Vinson, Louie Hogan, Irene Hooker, and Lee Morton; and a grandson, Trevor John Reeder.

She is survived by son, Mark Reeder and wife Lynn of Seagrove; daughters, Debra Hunt and Vickie Hulin both of Denton; sister, Tennie Cornelison of Denton; 6 grandchildren, Kevin Hulin (Carla), Hailey Wood (Allen), Hannah Staley (Doug), Cassie Lewallen (Zac), Travis Reeder (Jessica), and Trisha Reeder; 9 great-grandchildren, Kinlin Hulin, Chloe Reeder, Camden Hulin, Kallie Hulin, Kiania Neal, Lexi Haney, Aubrey Wood, Ethan Reeder, and Karlee Lewallen.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Debra Hunt on New Hope Rd, Denton.
