Betty Mcneill

Mrs. Betty Blake McNeill, 87, of McCallum St., Candor, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Randolph Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at Candor United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Heath and Rev. Gary Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Candor United Methodist Church from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday.

Mrs. McNeill was born May 23, 1932, in Moore County to Evander Blake and Claudia Parker Blake. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from High Point College. Betty taught Elementary School in Guilford and Randolph Counties. She was active in Calvary United Methodist Church in Asheboro as well as Candor United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by her husband Samuel Haywood McNeill of Candor; sons, Mark B. McNeill (Libby) of High Point and Coy S. McNeill (Cindy) of Greensboro; daughter, Joanna McNeill Mason (Gary) of Asheboro; 3 grandchildren, Katie McNeill, Caleb Mason (Dana), and Allison Koontz (Wesley); 1 great-grandchild, Jensen Koontz.

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
