Betty Austin Luther

Mrs. Betty Austin Luther age 83, of Ophir Road, Troy, NC passed away Saturday, September 28 at her home. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 1,2013 at Eleazer Church, with Rev. Phillips McRae and Rev. Derald Smith officiating. Mrs. Luther was born March 31, 1930 in Stanly County, the daughter of Alfred Lee Austin and Onnie Cooper Austin. She was a member of Eleazer Church and a retired beautician. She loved growing roses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Luther in 1999 and a brother, James “Buddy” Austin. She is survived by 2 sons, Terry Luther and wife Hilda of Asheboro and Phillip Luther and wife Jennie of Wallace; a daughter, Vickie Ingold and husband Jim of Troy; a sister, Iris Bingham of Greensboro; 6 grandchildren, Dale Luther, Marcie Cooper, Phil Luther, Stephen Luther, Jimmy Ingold and Tyler Ingold; 4 Great-grandchildren, Mack Luther, Sadie Luther, Jordan Luther and Haley Lawson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Troy. Memorials may be made to the Eleazer Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Dana Saunders, 405 Sexton Rd., Denton NC 27239
