Betty Lou Loflin Surratt

Betty Lou Loflin Surratt, 77 of Garner Rd., Denton, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 5:00 PM Monday at Pleasant Grove UMC, where she was a member, with Revs. Scott Davis and Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be private. Mrs. Surratt was born May 12, 1936 in Davidson County, the daughter of Lee Loflin and Arlena Gallimore. She was retired from Duracell after 27 years. She is survived by her husband, Charles Spencer Surratt of the home, a daughter, Gay McClure of Lexington, her stepmother, Hazel Loflin; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Hilton and Michelle Swisher; 3 stepgrandchildren, Kevin, Jason and Joshua McClure; a great-grandchild, Tevan Hilton. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove UMC Sunday School, 2489 Handy Rd., Denton, NC 27239. Briggs Funeral Home of Denton is in charge of arrangements.
