Betty Jean Warden Blackburn

Mrs. Betty Jean Warden Blackburn, age 96, of Mullinix Road, Troy, N.C. passed away On January 2, 2026 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton, N.C.

A service for Mrs. Blackburn will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Winston-Salem with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating.  Burial to follow in church cemetery.

A visitation will be held prior to the service at Gospel Light Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Blackburn was born in Wilmington, N.C. on January 17, 1929 to Harvey Warden and Viola Taylor Warden.  She worked for AT&T Telephone Company and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Blackburn and sister Gail Miller.

Betty is survived by 3 sons, Larry Blackburn and wife Helen of Troy, Danny Blackburn and wife Alice of Selma and Gary Blackburn of Red Oak; 2 brothers, Joe Warden and wife Sandy of Tennessee and Roy Warden and wife Estelle of Winston-Salem; 6 grandchildren, Josh, Greg, Rachel, Daniel, Clark and Laura; 10 great-grandchildren, Karli, Cameron, Leann, Kendall, William, Jacob, Eli, Jonah, Lovie and Charley; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kynlee and Lilly.

Memorials can be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown Guthrie Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
