Betty Lou Hicks

Betty Lou Williams Hicks, 89, of S. Steed St., Candor NC 27229, died Friday, May 5, 2023 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Graveside Service will be 2:30 PM Sunday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.

Born on May 22, 1933, she was the daughter of Stella Havana and Lexie Williams. She was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Derek Hicks.

Betty Lou is survived by her ex-husband, Claude Hicks of Candor; daughter, Betsy Hicks Harper (Scott) of Candor; 3 sons, Danny Hicks (Sue), David Hicks (Debra), and Gerald Hicks, all of Candor; Granddaughter, Deanne Williams (Patrick); Great-grandchild, Briella Williams; 4 step-great-grandchildren, Bridget Millen, Selene Williams, Little Patrick Williams, and Aiden Williams.

Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
