Betty Pruitt Barber

    Mrs. Betty Pruitt Barber, age 93 of South Main Street Extension, Denton, NC died Saturday, June 16 at the Glenn Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 21 at First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Keith Carroll. Burial will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 20 at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence on South Main Street Extension.   Mrs. Barber was born October 31, 1924 in Cabarrus County to Milos Pruitt and Bertha Young Pruitt. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, had worked as a telephone operator and retired from Bisher Mills. She was married to Herman Barber who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy Carol Barber, by brothers, McConley Pruitt and Herman Pruitt and by a sister Norena Sopher.   She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Barber of Denton; a granddaughter Stephanie Barber of Denton and a great granddaughter Savanah Ramsey.       Online condolences may be made at www.briggsfuneralhome.com
