Bessie Peacock

Bessie Elizabeth Peacock, age 75 of NC Hwy # 8 South, Lexington, NC died Sunday, January 10 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 14 at Mountain View Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. Tommy Floyd. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Miss Peacock was born April 9, 1934 in Davidson County to Samuel Lee Peacock and Alice Hedrick Peacock. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where she had served as teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class and as Church Clerk. She was a graduate of Southmont High School and Ashemore Business College. She retired from a clerical position with Lexcom after working for many years in a clerical position with Coble Dairy Products. She was preceded in death by a brother Grady Peacock. She is survived by a sister Mary Louise Peacock of Lexington; brothers Johnny Peacock and wife Mary Ellen, Charles Peacock and wife Carol all of Lexington and Athel Peacock and wife Anita of New Palestine, Ind and by several Nieces and Nephews. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence on NC Hwy # 8 South.
