Ms. Bertha Hill Hoover, 96, formerly of Jackson Creek Rd, Denton and resident of Crossroads Assisted Living in Asheboro, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Kim Snyder and Rev. Charles Lackey. Interment will follow at Piney Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:30 pm prior to the funeral service at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of her son, Randal Hoover on Walnut Dr. Asheboro.
Ms. Hoover was born June 20, 1923 in Davidson County to James Hill and Allie Grubb Hill. She attended Asheboro First Assembly and was a member of the Good Neighbor Community Club. Bertha had worked in the Textile Industry. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Hoover on January 30, 1992.
She is survived by son, Randal Hoover and wife Angela of Asheboro; daughter, Brenda Simmons and husband Wayne of Denton; 4 grandchildren, Brent Powell and wife Kayren, Brian Powell and wife Jamie, Caleb Hoover, and Seth Hoover; 3 great-grandchildren, Blaine Powell, Marisa Powell, and Trevor Powell.
