Mrs. Barbara Loflin Smith, age 75 of Handy Road, Denton, NC died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 27 at Lineberry United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kelly Creekmur, Rev. Chris Smith, Rev. Derald Smith and Mr. Nick Turner. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery The family will see friends 5:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times will be at the residence on handy Road. Mrs. Smith was born December 2, 1939 in Guilford County to James Marvin Loflin and Truby Lee Lanier Loflin. She was an active member of Lineberry United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Surratt Hosiery Mills and a homemaker.. She was preceded in death by a daughter Greta Smith Cody, her parents and a brother Branson Loflin. She is survived by her husband Richard K Smith of the Home; a son, Richard Tyron Smith and wife Susan of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Danielle Treadway and husband David of Thomasville, Allison Turner and husband Nick of Rock Hill SC, Travis Hicks and wife Courtney of Raleigh. And Leigh Smith of Oak Island; 6 great grandchildren; brother Brink Loflin and wife Dorcus of Denton; sister-in-law, Connie Loflin of Denton.
