Barbara Pierce

Mrs. Barbara Jean Lawrence Pierce, age 93 of Archdale, NC died Tuesday, September 6 at Hospice House of High Point.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, September 10 at Walter’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Steve Hill.

The family will see friends at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton from 12:30 until 2:00 PM on Saturday.

Mrs. Pierce was born February 10, 1929 in Randolph County to Emmit H Lawrence and Mary Louise Whatley Lawrence.  She was a graduate of High Point College (now University) and taught School for 33 years having spent most of her time at Denton Elementary School.  She was married to Ralph T Pierce who died September 22, 1992.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and by a brother John Lawrence.  Mrs. Pierce loved to Garden and loved Cocker Spaniel dogs.

She is survived by daughters Lynne P Payne of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Kay Foddrell of Archdale; grandchildren Emily L Minshew and husband Matt, Ean S Payne and wife Angie and Brandon A Payne and wife Paula and 8 great-grandchildren.
