Mrs. Barbara Grubb McDowell, 70, of E. Old Hwy 64, Lexington passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at her residence.A celebration of life service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 25 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Frankie Grubb presiding. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 prior to the service and other times at the residence.Barbara was born January 29, 1948 in Davidson County to Joe Grubb and Rose Bohlinger Grubb. She had worked for Burlington Industries until a decline in health. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Grubb.She is survived by husband, Jesse Lee McDowell, Sr. of the home; daughter, Connie Dienhart of Benson; sons, Mark Steven Bailey of Lexington and Jason Bailey of Thomasville; step-son, Jesse Lee McDowell, Jr. of Greensboro; step-daughter, Jean Glance of Lexington; step-son, Charles McDowell of Lexington.; brothers, Frankie Grubb of Lexington and Danny Grubb of Denton; sisters, Martha Bost and Phyllis Grubb both of Denton; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.Briggs Funeral Home is serving the McDowell FamilyOnline condolences may be made at www.briggsfuneralhome.com
