Barbara Johnson Carrick

Barbara J. Grubb Johnson Carrick, 92, formerly of Farmer Denton Rd., passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A private graveside service will be held at Denton Town Cemetery conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison.

Barbara was born in Davidson County on November 25, 1930, to Ernest Grubb and Minnie Lee Cutting Grubb. She had been employed with Bisher Hosiery Mill as a folder and was a member of Holloway’s Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Barbara was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Johnson; her second husband, Melvin Carrick; daughter, Janice Yates; brothers, Max and Lanny Grubb; sisters, Betty Mae Robinson and Mary Lillian Hill.

She is survived by son-in-law, Garland Yates; granddaughter, Andrea Michelle Yates O’Neal and husband Ben; great-grandson, Benjamin O’Neal; brother, Steve Grubb; and sister, Don Rea Keith.
