Aveline Snider

August 20, 1936 — September 18, 2023

Aveline Snider of Denton passed away on September 18th at Davidson Health & Rehab.  One of three children born to the late Barnie Franklin and Zora Richardson of Seagrove.

As a young child, Aveline lived with her parents in Burlington North Carolina. Making many lifelong childhood friends during those early years.

Aveline’s family relocated to Seagrove, bonding with her cousins and family who lived close by.  A graduate of Seagrove High School, she loved to play basketball.

After graduation, she was employed at Bossong Hosiery in Asheboro. It was here that she became friends with her future sister-in-law, Rachel. Rachel introduced Aveline to her brother Dwight “Gene” Snider in 1955. A member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Seagrove, Gene and Aveline married in 1956 and made Seagrove their home for the next ten years.

In 1966 the couple moved to Denton. Aveline was employed at Klopman Mills/Burlington Industries where she worked for 29 years.  Over the years through financial hardships, Aveline managed to balance work and raising a family of 5 children. Always made sure her family had something special for Christmas and birthdays. Surrounding herself with her family and friends, she loved to laugh, sing, iron and cook (especially sweets). A faithful member of Farmer Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dwight Eugene Snider and granddaughter Kiara Waters. Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Deborah Waters of West Columbia, SC; Tim (Vickie) Snider of Blue Ridge, GA; Tammy (Alden) Numa of Los Angeles, CA; Dana (Tommy) Evans of Thomasville, NC; and Darren (Christine) Snider of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister Christine (Wade) Huggins of Asheboro and brother Daryl (Shirley) Richardson of Asheboro. Aveline leaves behind many extended family and special friends who will miss her dearly.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to all that visited and supported her in various ways. Especially to her caregivers, the staff at Carolina Senior Care, Davidson Health & Rehab (formerly Alston Brook) and Hospice of Davidson County. Your extraordinary care has been a tremendous blessing!

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Sunday September 24, 2023 at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastors Daniel Delaney & Jonathan Burris officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
