Arthur Warfford

J. Arthur Warfford, 99, of Briggs Rd., Lexington died Tuesday, July 08, 2008 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2008 at Holloways Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Craig Barnhill and Rev. R. N. Hardin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Warfford was born October 15, 1908 in Davidson County to Everette Harris Warfford and Mary Lou Wofford Warfford. He retired as Founder and President of Warfford Machine Inc which he operated for 55 years. He was the oldest member, a former Deacon, and Trustee of Holloways Baptist Church. He had served as the Chairman of the building committee for several building projects at the Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arline Styers Warfford who died on June 12, 2003, daughter, Mary Lee Clayton who died on October 30, 2005, brothers, Herbert, George and Everette Jr. and sisters, Annie Mae Fine and Sallie Fine Survivors include sons; James Warfford, Tommy Warfford and wife Mildred, Joe Warfford and wife Audrey, and Bobby Warfford all of Lexington, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. The family will see friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at their respective homes.
