Arnett "Bud" Wayne Browning

Arnett "Bud" Wayne Browning, born on April 9, 1941, in Wyoming County, West Virginia, passed away at the age of 84 on September 29, 2025, at Mountain Vista Health Park in Davidson County, North Carolina. Bud was a hard worker whose notable career encompassed roles as a coal miner, heavy equipment operator, and truck mechanic. His dedication to his work was a testament to his steadfast character and resilience.

Bud was a proud member of the Baptist faith, which provided him with strength and comfort throughout his life. He is remembered fondly for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.

He is survived by his children: Kenny Browning (Crystal), Rickey Browning, James Browning (Kathy), Cheryl Moore (Freddie), Curtus Browning (Cheryl), Jeff Browning, Karen Miller, DeWayne Browning, and Missy McGreevy (Dave) and their mother, Jannel Webb. Additionally, Bud is blessed with 29 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry on his legacy.

Bud is preceded in death by his father, Buck Browning; mother, Velma Cook Browning; wife, Judy Ann Browning; brother, Ivan Browning; sisters, Norma Runyon and Connie Browning; and his grandson, Thomas Lee Wayne Browning.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bud’s life. A funeral service will be held on October 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Cooper Memorial Baptist Church, located at 2187 Windom Rd., Brenton, WV, followed by interment at Cook Family Cemetery on Skin Fork Rd., Pineville, WV.
