Archie "Mack" Green

Eagle Springs, NC Mr. Archie Matthew "Mack" Green, age 74 of Eagle Springs Rd., Eagle Springs, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Eagle Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Williams and Rev. Charles Hinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Moore County, Mr. Green was born October 1, 1932, the son of Ben and Annie McCallum Green. He was a member of Eagle Springs Baptist Church, a veteran, a farmer, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Green, a sister, Ida Barbour and nieces and nephews, Malloy, Maxine, Betty Gail and Steve. He is survived by his wife, Betty Moore Green of the home; 2 Daughters, Joan Freeman and husband Arnold of Eagle Springs, and Karen Blake and husband Mike of Chesapeake VA; a son, Mickey Green and wife Renee of Randleman; 3 sisters, Lena Williams and Elizabeth Brewer, both of Eagle Springs and Hazel Moore of Robbins; 3 brothers, Jonah Green of Biscoe, Roy Green of High Point and W.B. Green of Robbins; 8 Grandchildren, Matthew Freeman and wife Meredith, Erin Green, Charlie Blake, Ben Green, Kirby Allison and husband Justin, Sarah Blake, Lindsay Blake and Ian Blake; 1 Great-grandchild, Bryson Freeman; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the home.
