April Hughes

Dorothy April Hughes, 39, of Valley Farm Road, Denton NC passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at Randolph Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5th at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery with Mr. Wayne Markham officiating.

April was born on September 15, 1984 in Randolph County to Mike Hughes and Earlene Jones Hughes.  She was a graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School.  April was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Payton Skylar Yates.

April is survived by a son, Abel Alexander Yates of the home; fiancé, Brian Yates; parents, Mike and Earlene Hughes; a brother, Chris Hughes; nieces and nephews, Cody Hughes, Bella Hughes (Joaquin), Glenn Hughes, L.C., Noah Cagle, Chole Cagle, Levi Cagle and Ella Cagle; great-nieces and nephews, Joaquin and Brady.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
