Annie R. Hoover CANDOR — Annie Lou Bruton Rush Hoover, age 87, of N.C. 731 East, Candor, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gary McNeill. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Montgomery County, Mrs. Hoover was born Sept. 8, 1918, the daughter of Rederic Bruton and Nealie Batten Bruton. She was a member of Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church, a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mt. Gilead Chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Martin Rush. Survivors are four daughters, Jean R. Robinson and husband, Mason, of Richmond Va., Irene R. Hathcock and husband, Larry, of Elizabethtown, Peggy R. Barber and husband, Kenneth, of Wake Forest, and Margaret R. Greene and husband, Barney, of Candor; sister, Vancy Scott Hall of Huntersville; brother, Robert Bruton of Candor; 10 grandchildren, Danita Harper of Chester Va., Steve Robinson and Greg Robinson, both of Richmond, Va., Matt Hathcock of Bladenboro, Erica Archer of Greensboro, Kennie Schwier, Keisha Shell and Brandon Barber, all of Raleigh, Janet Greene and Alan Greene, both of Candor; 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence on N.C. 731 East.
