Annie Lee Allen

Annie Lee Smith Allen, 79, of Denton died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Thomasville Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Lineberry United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Steve McLain burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Allen was born May 11, 1930 in Davidson County to John Nelson Smith and Lizzie Russell Smith. She was a member of Lineberry United Methodist Church and had worked in textiles. She was preceded in death by brothers, Marvin, Fred, Voyette, James, and Worth Smith and by a sister Jettie Smith. Survivors include, husband, Max Allen daughter, Lanette Mizell and husband David of Kernersville, brother, Loy Smith of Trinity, grandchildren; Ryan and wife Lauren Mizell of Winston Salem and Brittany (Mizell) Maullin and husband Justin of Greensboro. The family will see friends on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers the family ask memorials be sent to Lineberry United Methodist Church in c/o Linda Pearce, 2222 Piedmont School Rd., Denton, NC 27239.
