Ann Surratt Loflin

Ann Surratt Loflin, 95, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Denton, N.C., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Ms. Loflin was born on November 7, 1921, in Randolph County, N.C., to the late Cordy Lee Surratt and Louie Steed Surratt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colon Loflin, on February 16, 1979; two brothers, James and Buren Surratt, both of Denton, N.C.; and her sisters, Bertha Noe of High Point, N.C., and Grace Hill and Edith Russell of Denton, N.C. Surviving are two sons, Gene Loflin and his wife, Barbara, of Dunnellon, Fla., Steve Loflin of Roanoke, Va.; two daughters, Hilda Reid and her husband, Jedd, and Ginger Pietrzak and her husband, Jimmy, all of Roanoke, Va.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of her Life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Oakey’s South Chapel with the Rev. Harper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will also be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 3 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton with Rev. Chris Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.
