Mrs. Angela Kay Varner Szares, 62, of S. Forest Lane, Lexington passed away on Monday, April 01, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
A graveside memorial service will be held 9:00 am Friday, April 5, 2019 at Salisbury National Cemetery with Rev. Mike Motley officiating.
On Saturday, April 6, there will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at Park Place in Denton from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Angela was born December 14, 1956 in Stanly County to James Grant Varner and Nell Rogers Varner. She was a graduate of Denton High School and a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Lexington. She had worked as a Teacher’s Assistant. She was preceded in death by her father, James Grant Varner.
She is survived by husband, John Szares, Jr. of the home; son, Michael Loman; step-daughters, Stacy Bowers, Angel Szares, and Dawn Stevenson; mother; Nell Varner; brothers, Ricky Varner and Jimmy Varner both of Denton; sister, Sharon Ayers of Denton; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Cancer Center of Winston Salem.
The Szares Family is being served by Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
