Mrs. Amy LaRae Merritt Pierce, age 49 of Blaine Road, Badin Lake, died Tuesday, March 17. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2015 at Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Darren Everhart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Durham on August 8, 1965, she was the daughter of Melva M, and Wayne Kenneth Merritt. She was an Alamance County Paramedic and a member of the Badin Lake Fire Department. She is survived by her husband, Larry Pierce of the home; daughters, Jessica Hart and husband Steven, Ericka Merritt Oakley and Cady Driggers, all of Badin Lake, Monica Murphy of Winston-Salem and Rebecca Ware of Wisconsin; mother, Melva Merritt; father, Wayne Kenneth Merritt; 3 sisters, Christy Merritt of Efland, Jeannie Gilland and Joann Terry, both of Mebane;5 grandchildren, Jezzlyn Hart, Brooklyn Hart, Billy Hart, Makenzie Hart and Aubrey Murphy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and following the service on Friday at the Badin Lake Fire Department.
