Glen “Allen” Simpson         2/1/1969 – 11/22/2020

Glen “Allen” Simpson, 51, of Denton, NC passed away on November 22, 2020 in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on February 1, 1969 in Welch, West Virginia.

Allen was in school to get a degree in Criminal Justice when he found out that he could get his Basic Law Enforcement Training and get started serving as a Deputy Sheriff. He never had a lot of patience! He served with Randolph County Sheriff's Office for over eight years and Davidson County Sheriff's Office for four years. The majority of his time in law enforcement was spent as a K9 handler and trainer. He loved law enforcement but training the police dogs was truly his passion! In 1995 Allen and his wife Barbara Simpson started their business Rolling Meadow Kennels and Canine Training LLC. In the beginning it was focused on Police K9 training but transitioned over the years to pet obedience and Adult Trained Dogs for Sale. They have been blessed to have traveled to all 50 states and even out of the country training and delivering dogs. Now known as Rolling Meadows Academy of Dog Training they have served the community for over 25 years.

Allen loved the Lord Jesus and served enthusiastically as a youth leader for many years at Community Baptist Church. As his health had started declining several years ago he was not able to be active in church as he was in the past.

Allen and Barbara were married for 33-years.  One of Allen's greatest joys over the last few years was spending time with his family. He became the official babysitter for each one of his 5 beautiful grandbabies which he absolutely loved!

He was preceded in death by his parents Saul and Shirley Simpson.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sons, Bradley Simpson, Michael Simpson, his Daughter in law Felicia Simpson, his grandchildren Madalyn, Makayla, Emma Grace, Connor, and Logan, his brother William Simpson, his sisters Melissa Riggs, Elizabeth Waruszewski and Stephanie Riggs.

The service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday November 27, 2020, it will be held at Community Baptist Church in Silver Valley NC conducted by Rev. Brian Workman. The church's address is 385 Ernest Snider Rd, Lexington, NC 27292. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

There will be a private family viewing from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service.
