Allen Mcnew

Mr. Dennis Allen McNew, 79, of N. Main St., Denton, NC passed away on Thursday, September 01, 2022 at Hospice of the Piedmont.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, Sep. 6, at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville with Rev. Charles Moses officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of daughter, Wendy Batten on Linda St. in Thomasville.

Allen was born October 21, 1942 in Harriman, Tennessee to J.B. McNew and Lela Jean Bullins Hill. He was a graduate of Ledford High School and served in the United States Navy. He retired from Parkdale Mills after 42 years of employment and had attended Denton Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Fay Dean McDowell McNew of Denton; son, Scott Alan McNew and wife Sandy of Thomasville; daughter, Wendy Batten and husband Rob of Thomasville; brothers, Wayne Hill and Michael Hill; sister, Linda Bowers of Denton.

Mr. McNew will lie in state on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
