DENTON: Mr. Alfred E. Haris, 71, of Farmer Road died Thursday, March 8 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, March 10 at Denton Town Cemetery with Rev. Don Jarrell officiating. Mr. Harris was born November 13, 1935 in Davidson County to Hal and Treva Lanier Harris. He was a retired truck driver with Roadway Trucking and later worked with David Harris Logging. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a daughter Theresa Jan Harris and a son Moody Kent Harris. Mr. Harris is survived by a wife Nancy Gallimore Harris of the home; three sons,David Harris and wife Jackie of Denton, Foy Dean “BB” Harris and wife Diane of Denton, and Dempsey Harris and wife Mary Beth of Randleman;one daughter, Lisa Morgan and husband Billy of High Point,one brother,Hassell Harris of Salisbury;one sister, Mildred Surratt of High Point, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, March 9 at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Farmer Road.
