Alene Williams Swaney

Mrs. Alene Williams Swaney, age 95 formerly of Pleasant Union Rd., Trinity died Tuesday, August 06, 2013 at Mountain Vista Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Dave Snyder. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. Mrs. Swaney was born May 25, 1918 in Randolph County to Rufus Williams and Viola Tysinger Williams. She attended Pleasant Union Community Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus H. Swaney who died on October 8, 2006 and by a son, Robert Swaney. Survivors include, Son; Richard Swaney and wife Linda of Thomasville, daughter; Cleta Cranford and husband Del of Asheboro, and by 4 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at their respective homes.
