Mrs. Alene Davis Surratt age 86 of Chapel Hill Church Rd., Denton, NC died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Thomasville Medical Center. Funeral Service will be 4:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Chris Smith and Rev. Benny Clodfelter with burial in the Church Cemetery Mrs. Surratt was born November 15, 1919 in Randolph County, the daughter of Charles P. Davis and Tura Russell Davis, Mrs. Surratt was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Surratt on October 18, 1985, by her parents, a sister, Kate Davis and brothers Othell Davis and Wesley Davis. She is survived by her DAUGHTERS: Jackie Furr and husband Larry; Shelby Futrell and husband Benson, all of Denton; Nancy Bean and husband John of Asheboro and Brenda Tuttle and husband Tommy of Wilmington a sister Anna Bell Davis Seymore of Sanford, grandchildren Ben Futrell and wife Addie, Jim Futrell and wife Jody, Rhae Auman and husband Tracey and great grandchildren Emma Kate, Laura, Alyssa and Ashlyn The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Jackie and Larry Furr, 8525 Chapel Hill Church Rd., Denton, NC 27239 Memorials may be sent to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Keith Loflin, Treasurer, 1366 Jim Elliott Road, Denton, NC 27239 The family would like to thank a special friend and helper, Grace Hamilton and also thank the staff’s of Mountain Vista Health Park and Thomasville Medical Center for their care.
