Alda Floyd Allen

Mary Alda Floyd Allen, 82, of NC Hwy 109 North, Troy (Eldorado Community), died Friday, November 4, 2016 at Woodland Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Swofford. Inurnment will follow at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Allen was born April 27, 1934 in Montgomery County to John Burchie and Edith Allen Floyd. She was a homemaker, loved her flowers and gardening and other beautiful things, and cooking and trying new recipes. She was a 1952 graduate of Troy High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Allen in 2011, 3 brothers, Ralph, Heath, and Bill Floyd and a sister, Martha Louise Floyd Lewis of Hampton, VA. She is survived by her son, Robert (Monty) Allen of the home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on NC Hwy 109 N.
